When I began this blog, I wrote that I was interested in many different crafts including sewing. This past few weeks I have been busy preparing a baby play quilt. I have a Pfaff Embroidery machine (2170) and a few years ago I made this same quilt for my grandchildren. It is called Zoo Babies by Sue Box.
Sue is an Australian Digital Embroidery Designer and does such beautiful work. The challenge was converting the Anton Robison embroidery threads to Madeira threads as those are what I have, but she even has a program on the CD to help you there.
This past weekend was a long weekend in Australia and I was able to do lots of craft. It was chilly and lovely to be inside (except for my visit to hear the guys of ‘Finding Faith‘ sing at Koorong – one of them is from the group ‘Human Nature’ and it is worth listening to their first CD).
Here are some pictures of the quilt and the animals for you to enjoy.
I also did some card making as we have a lot of family birthdays at the moment. I made another ‘Twist and Pop’ card using the Stampin’ Up Magical Day. 5 year olds love these cards and the way they open up. I then used the same bundle to make a card for my 2 year old granddaughter. Little girls cannot have too many mermaids and unicorns!!!!!
I then used the SU Animal Outing stamp set to make a card for my grandson who also turns 2 next week. I really need to buy the Thinlits to go with this set!! I plan to make a baby card with this set to go along with the quilt!
