Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #3

I was a little concerned about signing up for this blog as I was unsure what I should do and was struggling to get inspiration!! As I thought about the brief – using three of the ribbon colours, basic black and whisper white, I remembered this beautiful Botanical Butterfly  DSP.

This sheet is so pretty with lots of subtle colours in it. I used the opposite side of the same DSP for the bottom of the front and picked out three of the colours of ribbon that would tone in.

It is a very simple card. I used one of the sentiments from Strong and Beautiful as I was inspired to make this into a Mother’s Day card for my mum. Mother’s day is celebrated in the UK at the beginning of March (Mothering Sunday). Although she is far away, she has shaped so much of what I am and we are in contact every week and she writes to me each week at 87!!

I used whisper white  with some shimmer on it for the sentiment and stamped it in black ink and used clear embossing powder over the top. I mounted the white card on basic black using the shaped framelits and raised it up on dimensionals on the DSP, also adding a few artisan pearls.

The DSP was placed on Basic Black cardstock. I added the organdy ribbon in the three colours I had chosen and then placed it on a white base. I used another sentiment inside. I had planned to just do it straight on the whisper white cardstock, but wanted to add a little more weight to the back part of the card, so it would sit better. I used the rectangular framelits and a punched out butterfly from the DSP. I added a little balmy blue cardstock behind it to brighten it up (not in the brief!!)

This was very simple to make and I think a beginning stamper could do this easily.
