Welcome to our Blog Hop for February! We have the challenge of using these three colours in our card today.
While I was doing some cross stitch this week, I was inspired by the scene I am stitching of a bird on a fence post, prompting me to buy ‘Grace’s Garden’ this week.
I have fallen in love with this set! It really is worth getting the bundle, which includes the dies, as it saves heaps of fussy cutting. All the elements from the stamp set can be die cut. There is even some greenery!!
I decided to make a scene in a garden at sunrise, the middle of the day and sunset. I cut out three rectangular stitched pieces from Whisper White cardstock and sponged them with with Rococo Rose , Seaside Spray and Purple Posy very lightly. I sponged a little Old Olive on the bottom and began making my cards.
I had previously stamped all the elements in the set multiple times with Memento Black and coloured them in with my blender pens using the prescribed colours. I included a little Daffodil Delight , Granny Apple Green and Old Olive for variety. The cat was coloured in Light Grey Granite . They were then all die cut. I played around with placement and decided to use the archway and gate from the die set. I highlighted the flowers with Wink of Stella.
Before I glued them down, I layered each piece with Rococo Rose , Seaside Spray and Purple Posy cardstock. I then glued down the scene. The base of the card is Night of Navy and the sentiment from the set was stamped in the same colour and cut out with the Stitched So Sweetly dies and added to the front with dimensionals.
Inside I glued one of the flowers to some Whisper White cardstock. I really enjoyed the challenge of making this card and hope you like the finished product!!
