I wanted to highlight the beautiful embossing folder that Stampin’ Up have. When you use them, they add something special to your card. I wanted to pair them today with the Pretty Florals dies. I also have the stamp set, but if you don’t have it, this is a way you can actually just use dies and embossing folders to create something beautiful.
I love white on white with some highlights so today all my cards have Basic White bases and White embossed layers. I used blending brushes to change anything that needed it, and only stamped the sentiments.

My first card is a standard ‘Happy Birthday’ card. I used Fresh Freesia and Pretty in Pink for colouring. All the flowers were cut out using Bubble Bath cardstock and the leaves were Garden Green. To add depth and texture to the flowers I used Fresh Freesia on them but kept the calyx in Bubble Bath. The flowers were made up using glue dots and some multipurpose glue and then placed on the right hand side of the top layer. I added ‘Happy Birthday’ from ‘The Right Words’ stamped in Memento Black on Fresh Freesia. I added another piece of Fresh Freesia under the top layer and then added some Fresh Freesia sequins to the front. I was inspired to do this card by Wanda Pettijohn.

My second card was inspired by an amalgamation of several from Pinterest! I used the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder to give the top layer a beautiful look. I then added a square from Stylish Shapes dies in Mossy Meadow to it, using dimensionals. The flowers again were Bubble Bath and I added Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo to these as well as some Wink of Stella. The die-cut leaves are Old Olive The sentiment is from ‘The Right Words’. Again I added some sequins to the the inside of the square.

My third card today is also a ‘mash-up’ of techniques from other cards. I embossed the white layer in Exposed Brick and then, using my scoring board, I added five lines to it. It was placed on the base and the flowers were coloured with Daffodil Delight, Timid Tiger and Pumpkin Pie ink. The foliage is a mixture of Garden Green and Old Olive. I made an arrangement of these on the front and then cut out a piece of Textured Notes DSP to look like a basket and stamped on it in Memento Black. It was added with dimensionals. I used some more of the sequins on this card.
Don’t be afraid to experiment with layers and textures! You can make it as simple or as complicated as you want. All these cards could be made by a Beginning stamper.
