I have been really slack with doing blogs recently and must get into writing them weekly again!! Do you ever find something falls off the radar when you are busy?? I suspect it is a common problem!
Last week for my podcast, I used Petal Arrangements to create some cards. This is a set that is easy to miss in the September/ December Mini Catalogue. It is tucked away on Page 61. It is a stamp only set but a friend had used this, and I knew it was immediately on my shopping list. It will require some colouring but worth it.
It features Proteas and, I think, Frangipani. I was fascinated to discover proteas come in all colours that you might not realise. (I did a Google hunt). I sat down to replicate some of that.
I started with stamping many flowers in Memento Black on White cardstock and then coloured them in and fussy cut them. I used a variety of colours to get the depth I wanted. I did some in Ivory and Bronze and Old Olive and Granny Apple Green. For others I used the same for the leaves, but I did some in Pretty in Pink, Petunia Pop, Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss. For the frangipanis, I used Petal Pink and Old Olive. I even did one in Lemon Lolly and Pink!!.
Once they were cut out, I designed the card around them. The Ivory Protea used a petal pink blended background on Pecan Pie and white cardstock and some natural ribbon. I did two of these cards presented in different ways and gave one a vintage look using Basic Beige and Crumb Cake.

On another, I used Petal Pink cardstock and some of the Autumn Toile DSP from the mini catalogue.

My final one used Irresistible Designs DSP from the Annual Catalogue, That I have coloured with blends in Fresh Freesia and Granny Apple Green. I just cut the cardstock diagonally before doing this. I then placed the proteas along the diagonal line and added a sentiment to the card. I love how it turned out.

Perhaps you can see what you can come with too!!!
