Layers of Beauty

I have been bit behind in getting this bundle and the masks but it has continued to be available in the Annual Catalogue, so I purchased it. I have been enjoying getting to know it and looking at some of the beautiful cards that have been created and shown on Pinterest. Once you get the hang of the masking and the orientation (helped by the numbers on each mask), it becomes easier.

My first card is CASED from Beth Roy, who has created some beautiful cards. Beth is from the USA. I also used the Everyday Arches in this one. I stamped the large group of flowers in Basic Beige on Basic White and then coloured it in with blends using Peach Pie, Timid Tiger, Granny Apple Green and Pecan Pie for the centre of the small flowers. Some Wink of Stella was added to the daisies. I love the effect the masking has in creating life like roses!! The card is made of two more layers, cut out with the Everyday Arches in Cloud Cover and Secret Sea.

My second card was an attempt at Gold embossing the large spray of roses. I have found that the easiest way to get good cover when stamping is to use my Stamperatus as you can stamp twice with confidence. I embossed it in Gold. I then used my own idea for the card. I used a Basic White base and add some Distressed Gold foil after using one of the Basic Borders on an extra piece of Basic White that I embossed with Exposed Brick. The flowers were diecut to place on top of this.

My third card is mono-chromatic using a Crumb cake base with a Basic White layer embossed with the Plaid embossing folder. I added flowers stamped on a piece of Basic White just in crumb Cake ink and using the masks, used Crumb Cake for the colouring the flowers. I added some Wink of Stella and stamp/ embossed a sentiment from a new set available in August called Peaceful Garden. I added some Pecan Pie embellishments. I also dyed a piece of crinkled white ribbon (retired) with Pecan Pie and made a double bow for the front.

I am looking forward to creating some more cards using the masks.,
