Day 6 was right beside Day 5 and to my surprise it was puffy stickers!!! They are quite small and my immediate thought was ‘My granddaughter would like these!’ She is a big sticker fan!! Of course, my next thought was ‘What on earth can I do with these??!!!’
I thought if I had a big cup cake stamp I could stamp a cupcake and use them as a halo around the cupcake, but of course I didn’t!!
I then thought of my granddaughter again. She finishes Primary school this year and begins High school in late January. She has some challenges with life in general and I wanted to make her a card, as she finishes primary school. I often think of her and her determination to succeed, no matter how difficult it is for her. She plays trombone and has done several exams and dances beautifully. Sometimes those around her just see her as ‘different’ but don’t see her determination to succeed. They write her off, but never underestimate a determined child!!!!! She can see through people and read them sooo quickly!!!!!!

The sentiment ‘Always in my heart’ from the accompanying stamp set expressed my thoughts completely. It is quite small and knew immediately it would work perfectly with the puffy stickers. I cut out six square shapes with the dies from Day 1, but then needed something smaller to place the stickers on, so out came Stylish Shapes dies. They have a beautiful little square stitched die that would be perfect.
Before assembling the card, I embossed a white layer with Gather Leaves embossing folder and then, after daubing the edges of the larger square shape with Misty Moonlight and stuck it and the smaller square on with dimensionals and added a puffy sticker to each one. There were six different stickers so this was perfect. The sentiment was then added using two layers of dimensionals, so it raised up. The top layers were placed on a Misty Moonlight layer and then on a White base.
It was perfect for her and I plan to give it to her this week with a little gift! This has been a rather long blog but I wanted to explain the rationale behind the card I made.
