Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #45

This month our challenge was to use the colours – Tahitian Tide, Crushed Curry and Real Red. All three colours are quite strong so it was a challenge to make a card that I was pleased with. I made several and ended up with the first one I made and the final one I made!!

I experimented with Hues of Happiness DSP that actually has these colours in it. My first attempt was to stamp some of the images from Happiness Abounds stamp set using Versamark and White embossing powder. I then watercolored these with the three colours and die cut them with the Blossoming Happiness Dies.

The base of the card was Basic White and was coloured using blending brushes. I added a smaller layer of white cardstock that I had die cut with the same die set. The flowers were then added to the bottom left with the larger flower raised with mini dimensionals. On the top right I added a sentiment stamped with Versamark and Crushed Curry that I then embossed with Clear Embossing powder and cut out freehand.

I added some Tahitian Tide Metallic Woven ribbon behind the sentiment and also a sprig trinket and one Glossy Dot in Daffodil Delight to the centre of the flower.

The second card uses a Tahitian Tide base. The top layer is made up for strips of Crushed Curry, Celebrate Everything DSP, Real Red (die cut with the border die from Penned Flowers) and a strip of Basic White embossed with Pretty Flowers embossing folder. Three butterflies, cut from Brilliant Wings dies, were added with glue dots to the centre front.

I hope you like what I created.
