I have been inspired by a Christmas Sampler that I saw online from Ronda and Fiona in the Facebook group Creating for Christ. It was their November project. I fell in love with it and decided to have a go at creating my first sampler using the instructions they had posted online.
I didn’t have the Stampin’ Up Snowflake Showcase stamps, so I tried to use what I did have. I had the Joyous Noel DSP and Colourful Seasons bundle. I used Gray Granite CS for the backgrounds of each block and then varied what I did on top – based on the ideas in the original.
As it took shape, I was getting excited as it looked so nice — and that was even before I mounted it on the Whisper White Cardstock.
My husband (the Mathematician) made a template for me so that I could easily place the finished squares in the correct position.
I bought a Shadow box frame in Kmart and put the finished product into it. It was stunning!!!
I was so excited by what I had achieved that I also made one for my daughter. When I gave it to her today, she told me it looks even more beautiful in real life than in the photos!!
I think I want to have a go with some ideas of my own in the ‘not too distant’ future!!!
