January Project: Day 25: Lilypad Lake

I have had this set for quite some time but have never used it. I think it was a Prize Patrol gift at On Stage. The results of my card making were exciting and I want to try a few different techniques.

I went on Pinterest to try and get some inspiration for using it and from that I created these cards. The first one was inspired by a pin from Stamper Gyrl. I used Balmy Blue as the base of the card and brayered some Whisper White card stock with Balmy Blue.

I then used the Lakeside framelit dies to add the ripples on the water. I stamped the bird, lily pads and sun and sentiment and after colouring them in, I cut them out with the framelits. I sponged the edge of the sentiment to blend better with the card. All of these were then placed on dimensionals to give a 3D effect on the card.

The second card I made was similar. This time I cut out an oval shape with the Oval Framelit dies and stamped the base of the card with the stamp from the set. The yachts were coloured in and some were glued straight on the card and some were placed on dimensionals to give the 3D effect. The heron and the lily pad were also placed on dimensionals.

In the near future I will experiment with some more cards using these dies and silhouettes.
