Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #14

The new Mini Catalogue has some wonderful stamp sets in it, but I immediately fell in love with the Peaceful Poppies suite when I saw it OnStage.

Peaceful Poppy Suite

Last week I had a friend over who is new to card making and we decided to play with Peaceful Poppies. we used the DSP as the main feature of the cards so that she would not be overwhelmed by all the possibilities. She was so excited at what we created together and has returned to Queensland armed with some special cards she made.

For two of the cards I used Poppy Parade as the base card and Blackberry Bliss for the other one.

Happy Birthday: I mounted the DSP on Basic Black cardstock and glued a little strip of white card behind the sentiment. The sentiment ‘ Happy birthday’ is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set (part of the whole suite) and I punched it out with the Pretty Label punch. Inside I glued a piece of white cardstock with some poppied stamped on the bottom of it and coloured in. It is lightly sponged with Poppy Parade.

Thank you: This card evolved as I made it! I again stamped poppies on the front in Memento Black and water coloured them with the Blends. I used Balmy Blue and Old Olive water colour for the background. The sentiment from Peaceful Moments was stamped in Memento Black. Inside I stamped a large poppy.

Life is better: I used some more DSP on this one and mounted it on Whisper white card stock. I embossed the sentiment from Peaceful Moments in white on Blackberry Bliss and using dimensionals added to the card front. Inside I used a thin strip of the DSP on the white card stock for highlighting it.

I hope you enjoy looking at my cards and are excited about the possibilities this great suite offers. There is so much more I want to try and make over the days ahead!!
