Very Versailles

Recently we had a virtual Stamp Camp where we created cards in our own craft room instead of physically meeting together. It was an opportunity to try out some ideas as well as have heaps of fun.

I had been looking at some cards posted by Gail Ellis. She has beautiful style in her card creating, and I wanted to try and add some of my own designs to some of the ones she made.

I used the Very Versailles stamp set and Balmy Blue, Blueberry Bushel and Old Olive inks to create a vintage style scene. I added some butterflies from Butterfly Gala and stamped some on the scene and also some on scrap paper and cut them out with the Butterfly punch.

To layer the cards I embossed Whisper White with the Subtle EF. This gives the card such a classic look. I used Delicate Lace Edgelits to some of my cards and mounted them all on Whisper White cardstock, sometimes highlighting the design with a strip of contrasting cardstock. I have since experimented with Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride and Rococo Rose cardstock and Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride and Rococo Rose inks and to make a similar card.

I love the look of these cards and you can use whatever sentiment you like on the front and some pearls and twine for embellishing the cards if you wish.
