Pretty Parasol: Day 10

I actually made this card for a challenge at Stamp Camp two months ago. It uses the Pretty Parasol Stamp Set. The challenge was to use Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Blushing Bride and Smoky Slate.

I found the colours quite a challenge. In the end I used Smoky Slate for the Base. My top layer was Whisper White (retired) cut out with the Rectangular Stitched Dies. You could use Basic White. I then lightly sponged the white card stock with Balmy Blue and made all the elements for the front. The umbrella was stamped in Blushing Bride (stamped off) and then overlaid with Highland Heather. The handle of the umbrella is Balmy Blue. These were both cut out using the Umbrella punch. I also stamped the rain boots in Smoky Slate and used Highland Heather to colour them. They were then fussy cut.

I stamped the sentiment in Blushing Bride on the bottom left and then added all the elements. Before placing the umbrella on the card, I stamped off some raindrops in Smoky Slate on the Whisper White. Some of the elements were raised on dimensionals.

The layer was then placed on one of Highland Heather also cut out with the Rectangular Stitched Dies and then it was all laid on some White Glitter card stock (retired) and placed on the card base.

Inside, I added punched out umbrella on a piece of Whisper White in the same colours. I really liked how it turned out even though I struggled with the challenge!! My lesson – NEVER GIVE UP!! JUST HAVE FUN!!!
