Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #47

This month our challenge was to use the three colours – Sweet Sorbet, Blushing Bride and Old Olive.

On Mother’s Day, my daughter made me a beautiful card using Tulips. Sometimes it is easy to pass over stamps that had been in a previous catalogue and forget how beautiful they are.

I took the idea of the tulip from her card and changed the rest of the card. I used Basic White thick cardstock as the base. I then added a layer of Vellum Layering Designs on top of Blushing Bride cardstock. I used one of the Delicate Edges dies to cut out the tulip-like strip and added this over the vellum.

The tulips blooms were cut out with the tulip dies in Basic White and I used the blending brushes to add Blushing Bride and Sweet Sorbet to the blooms. The centre of the blooms is Sweet Sorbet cardstock. The leaves and stems are cut out in Old Olive. I arranged these on the vellum layer and added a bow of Crinkled Seam binding ribbon coloured with Sweet Sorbet. This ribbon is so versatile as you can colour it in any colour to match your card.

I had thought of adding a small tag with a sentiment but left it as it is. Hope you like what I did and it encourages you to get out some of those older, current stamp sets!!!
