Fancy Flora

I have been so busy with my ‘By the Bay’ suite that I have neglected using some of my other stamp sets!! I got out my Fancy Flora Suite yesterday, and I am now enjoying creating with this so much. I love the DSP and the stamp set. There are no sentiments with this stamp set but you can use other sentiments from other sets, as I did.

Last night, I cased a card from Pinterest to get me going. I will often do this to get the creative juices flowing and then go on to do my own design. The card I created last night is a little different from the original one by ‘Stamp it up with Jaime’. She used Fresh Freesia cardstock. I decided that I wanted to use Orchid Oasis, but the design is very similar.

My base is Orchid Oasis and I used a coordinating piece of the Fancy Flora DSP. I then stamped flowers on a piece of basic white cardstock with Orchid Oasis and Fresh Freesia inks using the two tone step method. You stamp the base part of the flower after you have stamped off some of the ink. Then you add the detail with the matching stamp at full strength. The effect is just amazing – giving you a 3D perspective of the flower. This was then mounted on a piece of Orchid Oasis and placed on the card using mini dimensionals. I added a piece of InColour Orchid Oasis Baker’s twine to the bottom left of the stamped part before adding the sentiment. I used ‘Congratulations’ from ‘Something Fancy’ stamped with Orchid Oasis and cut to size. It was placed on top of the twine. The card is embellished with Iridescent Coloured Gems. Inside I used a piece of the DSP on the Basic White insert and added a couple of stamped flowers.

The second card I made today, is for a friend. This piece of DSP is a little unusual in that it is slightly darker than the others. I cut it out with the Deckled Edge Rectangles and place it with dimensionals on a piece of Gold cardstock. I wrapped some gold twine around this before it was glued to a layer of Soft Succulent.

I felt that Basic White would be too stark for the effect I wanted, so I used Very Vanilla Cardstock as the base. The sentiment was stamped on Very Vanilla with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and placed on a scrap of Soft Succulent and added to the top right of the card with dimensionals. I then added some Brushed Gold Metallic Dots. I love how it turned out.

Now off to create some more!!!!
