Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #24

Welcome to our Blog Hop #24. This month we have a sketch challenge for our Team Blog. I decided to use Trimming the Town DSP and the Woodland Embossing Folder for my card.

Before using the Embossing Folder, I cut out a circle with the circle framelits from the Whisper White CS. I then inked the embossing folder with Old Olive and then ran the card stock through it. I found if you cut the circle out afterwards it flattened the embossing. I then sponged some Whisper White ink on to it to mute it a little bit.

I chose a piece of the winter scene DSP behind the circle and die cut out a house as well. To make this house stand out, I also die cut several layers of Whisper White cardstock with the house die and then stacked them on top of each other and glued the house to the top and set it on the card with dimensionals. This raised it up quite a lot. You could probably do this with double dimensionals as well!

I used two strips of the DSP and stamped the car from the Coming Home bundle in Memento Black and coloured it in with Real Red Blends before die cutting it. This was placed on the card with dimensionals, and I added a little tree onto the roof of the car.

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas which is an excellent resource for Christmas sentiments. I stamped it in Versamark and Old Olive ink and clear embossed it. It was punched out using Classic Label Punch.

To add some sparkle to my card I used Shimmery Crystal Effects on the trees and the houses and the Dazzling Diamonds which is unfortunately not available anymore!

I hope you enjoy both this card! It reminded me of my days in the Northern Hemisphere when Christmasses were cold and snowy!!

  1. Great card Elizabeth. It makes me feel like you are zooming home to get the tree decorated.
