Back to Back Blooms: Day 29

I started off with no idea how I was going to make this card!! The general idea was to use my new blending brushes and the Back to Back Blooms stamp set.

The first thing I did was stamp some blooms on a piece of Basic White cardstock. This stamp set is quite interesting! You can use both sides of the stamp – one for the background and then the other side for the detail. I did some in several colours – Highland Heather, Magenta Madness and Mint Macaron. The leaves were stamped in Garden Green and I used a Light Mossy Meadow blending pen for the colouring of these. These were fussy cut and set aside.

I then used Balmy Blue ink on one of my blending brushes and coloured the edges of the white cardstock. The new blending brushes are so lovely to use. The sentiment is from Peaceful Moments and is stamped in Memento Black. I then used the same ink (stamped off) to add some blooms to the cardstock. It was then embossed using the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.

I layered some of the blooms on the cardstock. I ended up using Highland Heather and Magenta Madness flowers raising some on dimensionals.

The front of the card was layered on Basic Black and placed on a Thick Basic White card base. I added a few rhinestone gems onto it and a little piece of Pool Party shimmer ribbon to the corner. This ribbon is so fine it blends in really well with the card and almost takes on the colour of the card it is placed on.
