Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #32

This month’s blog is a sketch. As you many of you know we are in lockdown at the moment so there is no better excuse to make cards!!

Our mini July- December catalogue has just been released and you will be available to order from it from August 1. I decided to go with a vintage style card this time using a stamp set from this catalogue. I then had more of a play with the layout and came up with two more cards.

For the first one, I used the Nature’s Harvest stamp set for this card and the beautiful Timeworn Type embossing folder. The echinacea flowers were stamped on Very Vanilla Cardstock in Memento Black and then coloured in with Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede and Evening Evergreen blends. I then used a little Wink of Stella on the petals of the flowers. The image was then cut out using the one of the dies from Hippo and Friends. I embossed more Very Vanilla with the embossing folder and used my blending brushes to add a little bit of Soft Suede to the embossed card and around the the cut out flowers.

I stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla with Soft Suede ink and that was layered on the card with dimensionals along with a strip of Soft Suede and Gold Foil. The card base is Soft Suede. I love how it turned out. My husband calls it ‘Elizabethan vintage’!

The second card uses Soft Sea Foam (now retired), Soft Succulent, gold foil and some lilies stamped on basic white. I coloured them using Polished Pink and Soft Succulent blends and fussy cut. The wreath (X2) is from the Seasonal Swirls dies in the mini catalogue. I bought it as I thought I could pair it with the Encircled in Friendship stamp set from the Annual Catalogue. The sentiment is from this set as well as the flowers. I added some Opal rounds on the wreath. This was placed on a Bark embossed folder and the base is Soft Succulent.

Card #2

The third card is similar to the first one. It uses the same stamp set, but this time I embossed the flower outline and the sentiment in white and coloured it in with Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake and Soft Succulent blends. I cut it in a rectangle this time, softened it with the blending brushes and gave it a tattered look to ‘age’ it. This was placed on Soft Suede and then placed on a crumb cake base. I added a strip of Gold foil and a piece of Pale Papaya and some Gilded Gems to finish off the card.

I hope you have time to have a look at what other talented folks on the team have done with the same sketch. I am always amazed at how we all interpret the design!
