In the past I have not been a fan of one sheet wonders, but I think I have been converted! When I looked at what people did with the cards, I felt constrained because I wasn’t as keen on the the design, as they seemed to be basically the same in many cases.
I am doing a One Sheet Wonder with one of my customers in the next week or so and it has to be on zoom as we are in lockdown and cannot physically meet with anyone outside our household. The customer has not done a One Sheet Wonder before so I wanted it to be be something that she could easily manage.
I was able to get six cards from the 6 X6 sheet, so I was so excited. I used a piece of the Christmas paper from the new mini catalogue. I am usually a fairly traditional Christmas person when it comes to colours – red , green and white.
However, when I saw this 1/4 sheet of 12 X 12 cardstock, I was excited to try something new! The DSP is called ‘Whimsy and Wonder’ and it coordinates with Polished Pink, Mossy Meadow, Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Misty Moonlight cardstock and Iridescent snowflakes. It also has a touch of silver in the pattern, so I used Silver foil and embossing on some of the cards.
I used embossing on some cards to add depth to the cards. I used two folders for this – the Tasteful Textures and Painted Texture embossing folders. I limited my palate to Mint Macaron, Basic White, Mossy Meadow and Blushing Bride. I added some layers to the DSP building them up with the colours or silver foil. The inks are Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow or Versamark with Silver Embossing powder. The sentiments are from Happy Holly-Days and For unto Us.
The embellishments come from the Annual catalogue – Genial Gems, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Simply Elegant Trim and White Crinkled Seam Binding, although I must confess that I used retired Mossy Meadow woven cord on one as well.
