Half Cracker Gift Box

Week 12 of the Twelve Weeks of Christmas

Today I am CASEing a project from All Things Stampy. Helen Read has written an excellent instruction sheet for these lovely Half Cracker Gift boxes that I have made for friends in the past two weeks. I changed the measurements a little to suit what I wanted to do with them.

You need basic cardstock for the body of the cracker and I used Real Red. I cut this 24 X 21cm. The shorter side was scored at 5cm, 10cm, 15cm and 20cm. The longer side was scored at 5cm, 12cm, 13.5cm, 15cm, 18cm and 23cm. Watch the video to see how to burnish each of these scores and where to cut the cardstock.

I added some Painted Christmas DSP to decorate this. The larger pieces are 6.5cm X 4.5cm and the smaller ones are 2.5cm X 4.5cm. You need four small pieces and four large pieces.

Before assembling the cracker place the DSP panels on the cardstock and and glue the cracker to make a rectangular cylinder. Then cut out a triangular notch front each corner between 12cm and 15cm. I used the Tailored Tag punch for this but you could cut them out with scissors as well.

Close the bottom of the cracker using Stampin’ Seal+ and add some ribbon around the top of the cracker on the indented section. You can add a tag to the cracker or leave it as is.

Fill with your gift of choice and place them on the table for Christmas, birthdays or any other special occasion!!
