By The Bay

I have fallen head over heels in love – with By the Bay Suite. I am not sure there is anything in this suite that I don’t like – except that maybe 12 x 12 DSP would have been great!!!

Our team has had a swap challenge this past couple of weeks. We could use anything from the January- June catalogue or Sale-a-bration to create a card, scrapbook page or 3D item. It had slipped my mind until the weekend that I needed to do this and then I came up with this beautiful card (my opinion!!) I needed to have something that did not take a huge amount of work considering I had a very busy weekend and I had multiple cards to make!!

I decided to team ‘By the Bay’ with Seashells Embossing Folder and my card has a clean and very simple theme. The cardstock is Basic White – thick for the card base and normal cardstock for the layer.

I embossed the first layer with the Embossing folder. I then looked through the ‘By the Bay’ DSP and found two that I thought would fit the style I wanted. I layered a small piece of the DSP on a piece of Basic White cardstock and added to the embossed layer with dimensionals.

I die cut some circles of Basic White using two circle dies (to make a ring). This was glued in place on the DSP and I then added a diecut bird or crab to the top with dimensionals. For darker DSP I used the crab and lighter – the bird. I really love the simple effect of this card. I had it sitting on a unit at my front door and many folks yesterday commented on it and the other things I had made with the whole suite.

I feel I am only beginning to explore the possibilities of this suite and need to keep creating!!!
