Stamper’s Anonymous Blog Hop #57

This year is flying past! I cannot believe it is August already! We had a colour challenge this month – we had to use Lost Lagoon, Moody Mauve and Pecan Pie. I have had a little bit more time on my hands since I broke my wrist a few weeks ago, but it has been a good opportunity to get the creative juices flowing.

I ended up doing two cards and a 6″ X 6″ framed image as well. I used the ‘Irresistible Blooms’ stamp set for the cards and ‘Translucent Florals’ for the 6 X 6 frame.

For the cards I used Basic White and Very Vanilla as the bases and for the stamped image. Some flowers were full strength and others stamped off. The background was stamped with Pecan Pie (stamped off) and the leaves are Lost Lagoon.

I embossed each sentiment – one in gold and one in White.. The layers were Pecan Pie and Moody Mauve cardstock. Both layers were cut out using the Deckled Edge Rectangles. I added some embellishments and single strands of Natural trim on one of the cards.

The sentiment is from Cheerful Daisies and is embossed in gold and the edge sponged with Pecan Pie ink. The centre of the flowers is Gold foil.

For the framed print, I die cut out lots of flowers and leaves in Vellum and Basic White and used the blending brushes to colour all the images. The base is Lost Lagoon and I added a layer of Basic White embossed with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder and lightly coloured it with Pecan Pie and a blending brush. I added a piece of Natural trim behind the flowers held in place by glue dots and then built up the arrangement.

The centre of the flowers was die cut in Gold foil and I added some Gold Brushed Metallic dots to the frame for added interest

  1. I’m loving the framed project. It is just divine. I love how you’ve created the two cards with the white and the vanilla too.
