This month our challenge was a layout. I decided to use a combination of three stamp sets – Magical Meadow, Go to Greetings and Irresistible Blooms.
Magical Meadow, although marketed as a Christmas stamp set, could be used throughout the year. In fact I have set myself a challenge to create a Christmas card and another general card with this set at our upcoming Craft Retreat.
I used some of the stamps, adding different colours to them with Stampin’ markers or even with a watercolour brush and ink pads. I used the colours, Garden Green, Old Olive, Blueberry Bushel and Cherry Cobbler to create an arrangement on the Basic White background. Before I stamped them, I used a blending brush very lightly with Blueberry Bushel ink to add some faint colour to the main layer.
I wanted some dots on the card so used the dots from Irresistible Blooms. This was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Silver. I also stamped the sentiment with Versamark and Silver with ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Go To Greetings Stamp set. This was then cut to the correct size. The Basic white was placed on a piece of Blueberry Bushel and added to the Thick Basic White base. The sentiment was placed on DImensionals.
Magical Meadow is a delightful set to work with and I look forward to exploring some more creations in the days ahead!! By the way, the DSP is beautiful too!!!!
