Fun Birthday Cards with Zany Zoo

While I was at the retreat a few weeks ago, I took out my Zany Zoo DSP and stamp set and decided to make lots of cards with them. This is a very cute set in the Annual Catalogue. Some are cased from online (Pinterest) and modified, adding my own creative design.

I teach piano and have many students and I love to give them a card on their birthday. The students feel very special when you remember their birthday.

For one of the cards I fussy cut some images from the DSP. The base is Thick Basic White and used the basic Border dies to create an edge on the front to which I added some of the ‘B’ side of the DSP and strip of the base card colour. I randomly stamps some images in Granny Apple green on the base and coloured a section in with the blending brushes and Granny Apple Green ink. The animal image was placed on this using dimensionals.

For another card, I cut lots of different sized circles from the new Deckled Circles Dies. This is a great value die set with 14 different sized circles from small to quite large! I used the stylish shapes circles to cut some of the images from the DSP and some of these were pre-coloured. On others I used blends. The image is from the stamp set.

These were placed on a layer of Basic white which I had embossed with the Crosshatch embossing folder (Available online) This layer was then placed on Basic Balck and on to the base of Granny Apple Green. Some basic Rhinestones were added for sparkle, because kids love sparkle!!

The other card uses a similar technique but I layered a piece of DSP to which I added some basic Black strips to the white embossed card.

I know the students will love these cards and the best thing about them is that they suit either boys or girls depending on the image you use!
