Elements of Text

I love using script on my cards – whether it is an embossing folder of stamp. This week I have teamed Elements of Text up with two other stamp sets – Thoughtful Wishes and Spotlight on Nature to create two cards for you. They have a vintage style. I used neutral colours to create the effect.

The first one was stamped on Basic White cardstock using Basic Beige. I then gold embossed one of the flowers from Thoughtful Wishes on top. On the second card I used copper embossing. This was then placed on a layer of Copper Clay cardstock and I wrapped some Copper Clay thick twine around the two layers and tied it off in a knot. The sentiment was also embossed – this time on Basic Beige and added with dimensionals to the card. I added some gold/ copper embellishments to the front.

The second card began as an experiment. I stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock using Crumb Cake ink from the Elements of Text stamps as well as Spotlight on Nature, and then added some gold embossing over this.

The butterflies are diecut from Beautiful Butterfly dies in gold foil and added with glue dots to the card. I wrapped some Faux Leather cord to the card and finished off the front with the ‘thanks’ sentiment from Spotlight on Nature. The inside of the card has the butterfly and a sentiment from Spotlight on Nature added to the Very Vanilla insert.

On both cards I lightly added some of the coordinating ink with a blending brush to give it more of an antique look.

For those interested, the circular stamp has words from William Wordsworth’s famous poem “I wandered lonely as a cloud” all about the wonder and beauty of masses of daffodils in the Lake District in England.
