This week I decided to create two very different cards with Terrific Toadstools. I wanted to challenge myself to make something a little different.
I often like to make Fancy Fold cards and the first one I made was one that I found on Pinterest. As it was an Instagram post, there were no links to instructions – so I went searching and found out that Patty Bennett had created the same Fancy Fold with instructions. It is called a Double Diamond Card. I used the Sale-a-bration DSP on this card with a Melon Mambo Base. It deserves a bright base to enhance the DSP!! It was fun to make and was easy to bring together to create a lovely, bright and cheery card!! What do you think??
My second card was some inspiration I had the other night when I went to bed!! (Don’t we all get our best inspiration at that time!!?) I wanted to make a simple card just using the stamp set and punch only. My base was Very Vanilla and it has a layered square of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla. I distressed the edges of the Very Vanilla square and then added some punched and stamped toadstools to the front in Crumb Cake. I wanted more of a monochromatic look or minimalist look. I added a touch of gold to the sentiment by using versamark and Gold Embossing powder on Early Espresso. This was placed on some fine gold thread. As I like to also do embroidery, I always have different types of Gold thread on hand. I wrapped it around my fingers a few times and made it into a ‘faux’ bow just by adding a twist in the centre and held it down with a little bit Stampin’ Seal before adding the sentiment on top with dimensionals. I love the effect of this card. It looks elegant and was easy and quick to create.
