Mixed Florals

This week I am visiting the Stampin’ Up Online store and showing you some of the amazing offerings that are available for you to purchase. Mixed Florals is stamp and die set and there is also DSP. In the Annual catalogue there is the Mixed Media Florals – very similar and great for scrapbooking.

I love flowers and nothing fills me with joy like the colour of a beautiful garden or even standing outside a beautiful flower shop and seeing all the beautiful colours and flowers available. Maybe you have even been to the Tulip Festivals and seen the swathes of colour or even Holland!!!!!!

In my first card, I experimented with three different colours of tulip. I began with Calypso Coral and Petal Pink and then used Gorgeous Grape and Cherry Cobbler. These are strong colours for this set but really look amazing. I paired them up with Textured Notes dies, which add a beautiful edge to your cardstock. They were all stamped in Memento Black and then coloured using Blends of various matching colours. I used the Exposed Brick Embossing folder for texture on these cards.

My next card uses embossing to feature the daisies. I CASED one I found on Pinterest for my first sample using Lost Lagoon and Gold Embossing on a base of Pretty Peacock and some gold foil. I then experimented with Copper Embossing on Very Vanilla and an Early Espresso base. I did some minimal colouring of the flowers on the copper cards. I again love the effect of this. It creates an elegant card worthy to send to someone.

My final cards were also using the daisies. This time I used Basic White with a layer of colours – Pretty in Pink in one and Boho Blue on the other. I used my blending brushes to add a light background to the top layer and then using dimensionals, I added the flowers and some White linen thread wrapped around it and tied in a bow on the front. I added a cute ladybug to the arms and ‘Thinking of You’ sentiment from Wonderful Thoughts stamp set and die cut it out. The daisy petals were covered with Wink of Stella.

Do you have a favourite of these three? I love them all for the variety they bring and they also bring some joy into your home and life!!
