Some of you might know that I have a lost a lot of weight over the past couple of years (on purpose) and I try to avoid eating cake. However, in the last week, we had a very special 60th birthday in our family (my sister in law). My daughter bought a beautiful strawberry mousse cake for her birthday celebrations last Sunday and I thoroughly enjoyed sampling it!! Life is too short to say No to cake – so here goes!!
The stamp set is ‘Amazing Life’ and is new. We received it at ‘OnStage’ in Melbourne and I hadn’t used it to date. It is in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. I have combined it with ‘Artisan Textures’ from the Annual Catalogue for some background texture. I stamped it off in Grey Granite on Whisper White cardstock.
I added the cake in Gorgeous Grape and coloured it in using SU markers. This time I used the Stitched Shapes Oval Framelits to cut out the sentiment and sponged the edge with Gorgeous Grape, colouring in the word to match the cake. Inside the card I stamped ‘So happy to have you in my life’ from the same set. I added some Highland Heather Organdy ribbon from the 2019 Sale-a-bration catalogue (free with $90 order!) and finished it off with some basic rhinestones and a little bit of ‘Wink of Stella’ and placed it on a piece Granny Apple Green cardstock.
The card base was one I had in my stock from last year and I hadn’t used it but it goes perfectly with this card!
