Magnolia 3D Embossing folder

I love Spring although I do suffer from allergies! I just love the way the garden comes to life and the beautiful colours around. This morning, on my walk, I saw the most beautiful yellow magnolia, just beginning to flower.

I had decided yesterday that I would like to do a blog on just an embossing folder and add some colour. The Magnolia 3D embossing folder seemed a perfect choice. It is available in the Annual catalogue and I wanted to show everyone just how easy it is to make a stunning card with very little!

I ran several pieces of Basic White through the Cut and Emboss machine using the Magnolia embossing folder. I am reminded that in nature there are many gradients of colour so began to experiment with colouring these in. I used Daffodil Delight, Polished Pink, Merry Merlot and Poppy Parade inks for the flowers. For three of the cards I used our blending brushes, as I love the effect you get. On all cards I used Pear Pizzazz for the leaves and for the background I used Balmy Blue.

On the Poppy Parade card I used Sponge daubers and that gives a slightly stronger colour. All the cards were then mounted on the coordinating coloured cardstock and placed on a card base of Thick Basic White.

I also wanted to show that if you make a mistake all is not lost!! On the Merry Merlot card, I was unhappy with one of the flower petals, so I just added a sentiment from Peaceful Moments stamp set in Merry Merlot and placed it strategically on the front of the card!!

On the Polished pink version. I added some Polished Pink gemstones. I just left the other two without anything else on the front. If you wished you could add a sentiment but I wanted the embossing folder to do the work.

What a wonderful way to use minimal supplies to create an effective card!!
