A few months ago I bought ‘Seasonal Branches’. It has been sitting on the shelf and I have been looking for inspiration to use it.
An ex-student of mine and her twin sister are about to start their HSC, so I thought I might pull it out and see what I could do.
I used the Countryside Inn DSP, Boho Blue, Night of Navy and Basic White cardstock. I stamped the tree trunk in Pecan Pie and the berries in Boho Blue onto the Basic White and then stamped another lot of berries on a scrap piece of Basic White and cut it out with the Seasonal Branches Dies. I used my Boho Blue marker to add more depth to the berries and finished it off with a Wink of Stella. I softened the Basic White with a blending brush and Daffodil Delight ink.
The bird was stamped in Memento Black and coloured using a water painter. I used Daffodil Delight, Pecan Pie, Boho Blue and Night of Navy inks for this. The sentiments were stamped with Pecan Pie and the longer sentiment was cut out with the smallest Countryside Corners Die. The other was cut out free hand. I added a piece of Boho Blue textured ribbon to this, before I adhered it to the card and then some Boho Blue In colour Dots to the front of the card.
The card is made in the style of a Book Binder card. I added the sentiment ‘You’re in my thoughts’ to the inside and used a blending brush to soften the Basic White cardstock with Daffodil Delight ink.
