What a cute set this is!! I love the whimsy feel it gives and the sweet animals and sentiments. I challenged myself to use this one this week. It has been a tough week, as I have been feeling a bit unwell, and I really had to motivate myself to prepare for my Timeout Thursday this week.
I looked at lots and lots of cards on Pinterest!! I have cased one of these cards and the others are my own inspiration. The first one I created uses lots of circle dies from Spotlight on Nature. There are different sized circles with patterns around the edge. I chose Basic White and Real Red and placed the card on a Smoky Slate base. I cut out the circles first, used blending on some of them, and then stamped the cute mouse on three of them with Memento Black. They were all placed on a white background embossed with So Swirly Embossing folder . The mice were coloured using Smoky Slate, Petal Pink and Real Red blends.
The second card uses the hamsters. I stamped these in Memento Black and coloured in using Pretty in Pink (Light) and Light and Dark Crumb Cake.. I used Basic White as the base and top layer. The top layer was embossed with Exposed Brick, and placed on a layer of Crumb Cake. A piece of Natural Wavy twine was placed around this before placing it on the base with dimensionals. I added a few Pretty in Pink diecut hearts, and stamped some on the inside of the card. The sentiments are two stamped on white cardstock with Memento Black. I used the Stamperatus to place these side by side to make a long banner which is ‘held’ by the hamsters!
My final card was inspired by Angela Meiritz Reid from New Zealand. Angela presented this stamp set at On Stage in Melbourne and had a wonderful display of designs to show us. I thought this one used the flowers from the die cuts in a different way to add colour. I die cut lots of flowers in a variety of colours, and, using glue dots, attached them to a square of Basic White. This was layered on two more squares that were scored using the scoring tool and then layered on top of each other with dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Black on to the base and I added some Basic Rhinestone gems to the centre of each flower. It is different from what I usually do, but very effective. Have a look at some of Angela’s beautiful creations on https://stampingbeauty.com
I hope you like what I have created today. I would love some feedback as I want to know what you like and see if I can create something in colours or a style for you!! It is also good for us to know that people are interacting with our cards and hopefully (maybe!) recreating them!!
