This week I have decided to use ‘Country Flowers’ for my cards. This is part of a suite called ‘Country Woods’, which includes the birdhouse. There are lots of lovely cards available to demonstrate this set.
I decided to case a card from Splitcoast Stampers called Flowersbyrazidazi. The card uses the colours, Petal Pink, Smoky Slate, Basic White and the Country Woods DSP. I cut the Smoky Slate leaves out using the dies and I also diecut out some petal pink flowers. These were all placed on a layer of Basic White. I drew a sloped line in pencil on the Basic White and then scored all along that line with the Simply Scoring tool at 1/4″ intervals. I was able to erase the line after I had finished that. (See how I did this on my Timeout Thursday).
This was placed on a Petal Pink layer and onto the Basic White base. The flowers have Rhinestones Basic gems added to the centres. I added a Petal Pink and White layer inside.
The next card has a Basic White base and I embossed the front with the Exposed Brick EF. I then made a faux window using the retired Rectangular Stitched Dies. I also demonstrate this in my Timeout Thursday. I used Thoughtful Journey DSP to create a scene behind the window and glued it to the front of the card. The pail was stamped in Memento Black on Silver Foil, heat dried as it is slow to dry and then diecut. I added a little shading on the pail.
The flowers were stamped in Memento Black, coloured using coordinating blends and Wink of Stella. The sentiment was also stamped in a coordinating colour and cut out freehand. The card I created on my Facebook Live uses different colours Cajun Craze, Peach Pie, Boho Blue and Mossy Meadow.
The final card is cased from ‘thecraftycarrot’ and Melissa Tethridge. It is a really simple card to put together. I embossed the front right with one of the Fun Patterns Embossing folders and then added a piece of Country Flowers DSP to the left side. I added some white twine around this. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Black and cut out using Stylish Shapes dies. I cut out the pail in Smoky Slate and highlighted it Smoky Slate to create a shadow.
The flowers were also stamped in Memento Black and coloured in using Petal Pink and Lost Lagoon and Light Daffodil Delight. The individual flowers were cut out in Basic White with the centres coloured in Daffodil Delight and a pearl was added to the centre and also coloured with the blend. I also cut out some foliage from Thoughtful Journey. All these were placed on the card using dimensionals and glue dots. I added a white twine bow.
