This has been another ‘shelf sitter’ – until now!! I’m not sure how many times I have looked at it and thought about doing something with it and finally!!!! All of these cards have been CASED, but I have added my own touch to them.
The first one uses the nest. As a child, living on a farm in N Ireland and surrounded by trees and hedges, we loved exploring and often found a nest where there had been eggs – now hatched. But sometimes we would even come upon one blown from a tree with the eggs still in. I loved the tiny blue eggs covered in speckles and used to look at the empty, tiny shells after the birds had hatched with awe and wonder! How great is God’s creation!!
This card uses Dry brushed Metallic paper. I teamed it up with Pretty Peacock and put it on a base of Basic White. The nest and eggs were stamped in Memento Black on Basic White and coloured in with Old Olive, Ivory and Bronze and Pool Party. I sprinkled some Copper Clay Blend on the egg and also some Wink of Stella by tapping on the blend over the nest. It was all cut out using Stylish Shapes. I added a piece of Lost Lagoon ribbon that I cut into two strips and some Gold Simply Elegant trim to create a bow and stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed in Gold. It make a beautiful, very elegant card.

The second card used the cup from the stamp set. I stamped the cups in Memento Black and coloured them in with Pretty in Pink and the foliage in Granny Apple Green. I embossed a piece of Basic White with the Distressed Tile embossing folder and placed it on Petunia Pop. and wrapped a piece of Petunia Pop ribbon around this and then added the cups on dimensionals.. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Black and I used the Elegant Edge Punch on each side of the sentiment. I did a second card in Summer Splash. Both used the In Colour dots.

My final card is a Stepped Z card. It looks complicated but it actually quite easy to put together. The flower from the stamp set was again stamped in Memento Black and coloured in with Poppy Parade, Boho Blue, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Blends.

The base is 15 x 20.5 cm and scored at 10.5 and 15.5cm. Valley folds were made on these score lines and to create the steps, I cut cardstock from the same colour as the base ( each piece is 3cm x 10.5cm; 3 x 9.5cm; 3 x 8.5cm; 3 x 7.5cm and 3 x 6.5cm. The DSP was cut 0.5cm smaller in both directions (Eg 2.5 x 10cm etc.) They were then glued together. I added a piece of DSP 4.5 x 20cm diagonally cut and a piece of Basic White to write on.

The stepped pieces were placed on the front flap stepping up from bottom largest to smallest at the top and then the image was cut out with Everyday Details dies and places on the front. I added a few matt dots to this. It is an effective card and depending on the look you wanted, you could change the DSP for the project in hand. Mine used the 2024 Neutrals DSP.
