Autumn Expressions

Here in Australia, we are into Spring, while in the Northern Hemisphere, they are in Autumn! However, I thought I’d use this suite today. I have had it for a few weeks and finally at a craft retreat last weekend I had time to play around with it.

The DSP is quite strong in colour, and for me, I need to tone it back to create cards that appeal to me. I’m not sure if I have arrived there yet, apart from my first card!

I love this card and, those who know me, know that I love embossing and the effect it creates. I decided to use Gold Embossing on Very Vanilla. It is a beautiful combination. I then added some Early Espresso to frame it and placed that on a base of Very Vanilla, embossed with Exposed Brick. This too has been placed on Espresso Brown. I added some Natural ribbon and some Burlap ribbon to the lower part of the card and added a piece of Gold twine. The whole card is on a base of Very Vanilla.

My second card used the daisy DSP from Autumn Expressions. I used Stylish Shapes Squares to cut a piece from the DSP and Cajun Craze. I added dimensionals to raise the smaller square from the card. I then added some Vanilla Twine and then stamped the sentiment on top using Cajun Craze and placed on a Cajun Craze base and added it on top of the twine. I added another strip of the DSP inside the card.

My final card uses the purple DSP and I made a Triptych Card (3 panels). The DSP is placed on Gorgeous Grape and then they were placed on a Highland Heather Base to which I had added a strip of Neutrals DSP. The sentiment is embossed in white with Versamark and two Basic Rhinestone Gems were added. The inside of the card had a strip of the same DSP added to it.
