It is sometimes strange how you can overlook a stamp set in the catalogue and suddenly you are inspired to make something with it and you don’t have it!! This happened to me and my friend brought hers to retreat so I could use it. I also put it on my shopping list and it arrived the next week. The stamp set and dies are very pretty. I am not finished exploring it.
I have used the die cuts in this blog and only the sentiments from the set. There is a little butterfly stamping on my final card! Every card you make will be different!!
The first one I made (and I should have written down what I did!!!!!) uses Basic White and Misty Moonlight cardstock. I die cut butterflies and used a blending brush on them. I used Balmy Blue, a little bit of Pretty in Pink and Garden Green (I think) to blend the background and used the same colours on the butterflies. I also used Wink of Stella. The sentiment is embossed in White on Misty Moonlight cardstock and to finish the card, I added some Rhinestone Basic jewels. I love the effect and simplicity of this card.
The second card I made is based on a Double Easel Card that I found on Pinterest. It was made by Diane Hutchinson from ‘addinktive designs’, but I changed it a little bit. I made two of these – one in Petal Pink and one in Pretty Peacock.
On the Petal Pink card, I used the Country Woods DSP to layer on the card. On the Pretty Peacock one I made my own DSP by embossing Basic White with the Birch folder and then using a blending brush to highlight the white DSP with Lost Lagoon and a little Pretty Peacock. Many of the butterflies are cut from Thoughtful Journey DSP. This makes ideal butterflies!!!
The circle die is from Stylish Shapes and I have cut out two the same size and sandwiched a piece of Vellum from Golden Greenery Suite between them. The Butterflies are then added to the circle after it has been placed on the card. I embossed butterflies in Versamark and White and used blending brushes to colour these in appropriate colours. The sentiment is embossed on Pretty Peacock with White and Cajun Craze on White and placed on the card with double dimensionals to give it enough height to hold the easel in place. I added a few embellishments to the card and some Wink of Stella.
The final card I made used Basic White cardstock and I embossed butterflies randomly on it with Versamark and White. After heat setting these they show up on the white but I added some blending with Azure Afternoon, Bubble Bath and Lemon Lime Lolly to highlight them . The butterflies are cut out in vellum and highlighted as well. I added sparkle to them with Wink Of Stella.
Before placing them on the card I backed the card with a piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock and some Azure Afternoon ribbon. This was placed on a Thick Basic White background. I stamped the sentiment in Azure Afternoon and placed it on dimensionals and then I added the butterflies to the card with glue dots. It was finished with Rhinestone Basic Jewels and Wink of Stella.
I hope you like what I have done today and there is a Facebook live Timeout Thursday which is also archived on my Youtube channel with more details of how they are made.
