Some of my favourite stamps!!

I have been absent for a few weeks due to busyness and deadlines!! You know that feeling when something falls off your radar!!! Time to reset and get your bearings and I think I did this in this beautiful place a couple of weekends ago. This is a view of one of the lakes at Castlereagh, Penrith when we were at retreat. It was so peaceful and what I needed to get inspired again.

I am going to start back with this past week’s podcast and some of my favourite sets and cards.

I made the first card below at retreat. It uses Spotlight on Nature with Elements of Text. Elements of Text is a wonderful background stamp and I stamped off some of the images before adding them to Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake. I then embossed in gold one of the images from Spotlight on Nature and lightly watercolored it. I used Deckled edge Rectangles to cut it out. It has a modern vintage feel and I then added half a piece of the gold ribbon (cut up the middle to make it thinner.) This is probably my favourite card of this week.

I then got out the Thankful Garden masks and did some hydrangeas. If you haven’t seen the variety of hydrangeas in various colours that are available, visit your garden centre. The one at West Pennant Hills has an amazing range of hydrangeas in different colours at the right time of year. I had not used masks before but had so much fun creating these flowers – first in Azure Afternoon, then Gorgeous Grape and Pool Party. I added them to a background lightly stamped with Elements of Text and before running it through the embossing machine, I highlighted the cards with blending brushes in the same colours as the flowers. I added a piece of White linen ribbon and a sentiment and some embellishments to them. I hope I inspire you to get these. This is an online set only and worth looking at and buying!!!

There is also a DSP and next week I plan to use it with the stamp set to give you some other ideas.
